Still beating up the two local parks and had a good day today. The gold ring that looks like it had a fight with the mower is marked 14K. The small chain bracelet is .925 as well as the pendant. The large solid bracelet was found in the old area of the park that has turned up a few musket balls and a Minnie ball. There is only about an inch of topsoil in that area and then compacted red clay. This thing was 6 to 7 inches in that stuff and I almost gave up digging it but glad I didn't. Anyone ever saw anything like it? Appears to be brass....

Odd looking critter...good job

Holy Toledo Batman !!! That looks like a unique bracelet to me! If your stars are aligned correctly maybe it is a copper culture item or some Indian trade goods.

I took to bracelet over to WCU's museum and the curator is currently researching it. They took multiple photos and measurements and soon as I hear something I will post it up!

Hope it is something really cool...did they give you any ideas or baseline impressions of what they THOUGHT it might be?

Actually yes, they think it may be a slave's bracelet.

That is really cool! Hope that is the case!

:happy1: Hope you get some good news! Waiting around to hear more ....

Verdict is in. Late 1800's folk art bracelet. As it stands that is an educated guess.
