Awesome coin finds. The only issue I have is how you put Civil War in the title of all of your threads. Some find are clearly CW related but you can't assume everything is connected to the CW. Still, congrats on the gold coin and seated silver!

If these coins were found on a site that had CW history and most of the finds therein are CW related, then there is reasonable thought that these were period drops. Condition of the coins really matter too. If they were worn out, then I would more likely say later drops. Just my opinion here folks. Nice coins, thanks for sharing....can you show us more finds from the site you dug these on?

Very nice looking gold coin. I guess everyone has the right to speculate on unstratified finds. I prefer facts though. BIG CONGRATS, gold coins are hard to come by in any Country.

Amazing finds!!!

It was a cut over road from to period roads there were camps and literally almost everything I find other than shotgun shells is civil war found 9 dropped 3ringers and a pocket watch back and eagle button today so that's why I say civil war I go to amazing time period spots and locations .

Crazy that $1.05 won't even buy a can of coke now.

Bet that gold got your heart pumping!! Great finds Bud!! Congrats
