Definitely soldier dropped. I know for factual purposes in situ is definitive, but common sense tells you if so many other things around are Civil War period and these are right in the middle with Civil War era dates, they too are period. If it was something like a house site that spanned many years, that would be different, but no question if you are in a site like that (with very few if any other modern targets) it was left by a soldier.

Thanks alot I put it in today's find also I try and do separate posts for the day I've been going to this same spot or area so I figured also the ones that question me on assumption and facts to prove this is a early war area and to prove 85% of everything found is pre civil war and civil war finds just keeping this post updated as well
