Posted full story in todays finds. Treasurefiend- pm me and I'll tell you exactly where I found that cross. Apparently its was right by your apt.

Anywho, Started out hunting in the woods where I found the Barber, roosie and gold bracelet, and ended up hunting a park I know many of you have hunted before. I was just going here to get my clad fix too, so I'm glad I found this beauty. It was about 9 inches deep and gave me a solid 12-06 reading. 18k, with 16-4-1913 engraved on the back with initials G & M. By far my best find ever. Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

That cross is stunning!!
If I found something like that, it would definitely be on my top-ten list.

Nice job on the silver as well

Wow!! If I found those coins in the woods, the cross wouldn't have been found 'cuz I'd still be there!

Great finds!!!

That cross with the inscription on the back to make it personal is a superb find!

Awesome job - bigtime congrats!!!!!!

I would agree.

That would make my top 5 list for sure ( not the silver  ;D )

1899 quarter or better is on my wish list Oldest is a 1901 O ( sold it )

Awexome Cross Jon! That's amazing that the E-Trac grabbed that so deep... I know it's big, but still.

And now I have a great segway into why I spell awesome with an X. Back in the day when I was big into Homestarrunner.com, and this game called Awexome Cross 98 came out: http://www.homestarrunner.com/awexome.html I just started spelling it that way forever. If it's awexome enough to say awexome, then it must be extreme and worthy of an X!

GREAT Barber Quarter Too! I sure would love to find one of those... any date!

Really nice cross! As well as the silver...

Jon,

I've got to say, those are some exceptional finds. Why don't you come out on our hunts sometime? Bring us some good luck!

I love the cross, with its engravings. However, I am a coin guy and mostly like the silver!

Thanks for all those replies guys.

Joe & Kermit- Anytime you guys are going out let me know and I'd be happy to hunt with you guys. It's always more fun when you're with other people to share your excitement when you find something. I live by east river and foster, so anytime.

Now those are some really sweeeeeet finds!
Wonder what was going on (in the early '20s perhaps?) to make that cross get lost...

Wow! is all I can say, that's a beauty!
Ukranian inscription on the front? Size? Weight?

KEEPER!

KEEPER!

It's 2 7/8 " long by 1 1/8 across weighing in at 6.16 grams.

Don't know if the inscription on the front is Ukranian or maybe Russian I've been told. But definately European.
