Nice detail on this piece( pic doesn't do it justice ) not sure but is this a silver brooch? Has a place where apparently a pin went on the back( see pic).. thanks and any feedback appreciated. IMG_1978.webp6A430D0A-3B2A-43FB-A984-47D0A7255798.webp

Need more pics, location where found would help too.
It kind of has that shoe buckle fragment look to it. More pics would help.

Has a more modern feel to me - early 20th C ? I agree a few more pics will help !

Ok, after seeing more pics, it does look more modern.
Maybe a brooch. Hopefully others will be more help.

Nice find.Congrats

Its part of an 18th C Shoe Buckle (easy one)

Nice find and good eye! If it's 18th century silver, you've pulled quite a nice piece there - congrats! :occasion14:

Clean a small area on the underside with a baking soda paste. You'll see silver right away.
Congratulations on a nice find.

I never mentioned silver, these type were a mix like pewter.

Really cool relic

Yep, Crusader has it right. It's totally a colonial 1700s shoe buckle piece piece.
