Silver Cert Bundle!

I was going around for a lunch run to a couple banks in an area I haven't really frequented too much and in came across a teller who had 46 silver certificates!

Needless to say I grabbed the whole bundle. Most are circulated: some 1935 series, but mostly 1957,a,b.

I'm pretty excited!

There is a smattering of star notes too.

Nice find! Was the teller holding them for you, or did you just happen to get lucky?

The interesting thing is that the teller told me they've been sitting there for about 2 months (and the wrapper is stamped Jan 2.

She told me that she was keeping them from going back out as change "for someone who would be interested in them". I guess that's me

In the days of the silver certificates the serial numbers advanced by means of a gear. When a tooth on the gear wore down or broke off on one side you ended up with two different serial numbers. Those error bills are worth a nice premium and should be protected in sleeves to preserve their current condition. good luck, siegfried schlagrule

NO kidding it was my goal to find a couple silver notes but a boundle would be amazing nice finds
