SILVER FATHER'S DAY...

...& that's not because of his greying hair...
I let Dad get first blood with the large silver Florin. Which came out very early into our 3 hour hunt. After that it was back to the lesson board.
The 2 fields we tried were super quiet & we would have never predicted the success we had;

Circa 9th C Rare Saxon Hooked Tag/Clothes Fastener (broken)
Tudor Leather Mount
Tudor Buckle
Tudor Knife Terminal
The weirdest tack I've ever found - 'S' shaped!
Florin & Sixpence
Lizzy Halfgroat, & cut Henry III halfpenny

The moneyer of the halfpenny is the same as my Dad's name - how odd on fathers day!

Yes strange. I even got the sixpence on the way back to the car. I was getting close the the entrance when I decided on a sudden turn followed by another which landed me right on it. Nice bit of luck.

These 2 coins almost doubles our hammered total for all this owners fields(over the last 2 years). Most of this guys land is pretty much empty. So 2 amazed us as well.

The Saxon gives us a glimmer of hope.
