Today I hunted one of my old favorite spots. It's a stretch of woods adjacent to an old, defunct amusement park. I think it was the picnic woods for the park. Over the years it has yielded many silvers, wheaties and Indian heads. Today, I got two silver dimes out of there, a 1906 Barber and a 1917-s Merc. Also found nine wheaties, including a 1909 V.D.B. The area is carved up with bike trails now, which makes it easier to hunt, as long as you stay out of the way of the bikers. But along the trail I found the Barber dime and a little sterling silver ring, both about two inches deep. The rest of the stuff was scattered all over.
