So today i went to TD bank to make a dump. First stop dropped off half a box of halves, walked out with my cash and a 1943 Washington quarter. Walked a few blocks to the next bank to dump the rest of the halves i have. As i was getting my ticket cashed, I noticed teller tray has a Ike dollar eagle looking right at me. Behind that i noticed silver rim, so i asked for the two big dollars. The teller took both coins together and placed it on the counter. From where i was standing i was so sure i've hit a peace, morgan or silver ike dollar, judging by the color of the rim. got my cash and the coins, as im walking out i look at the two dollar coins, rim first thinking YEAH! but when i flipped the silver rim over and saw Gold Eisenhower bust, i was thinking what in the world. knowing it is not a peace or morgan dollar, I looked at the Mint mark to see if it is a silver ike. Sadly it was a D, and the thought of some higher being laughing at me sets in...:BangHead:

Hey Liu,

Least it didn't COST you anything to be humiliated by the Silver Gods! Remember, there's always a "silver lining."

Hard to feel sorry for a guy who ended up with a silver quarter...

Ike is kinda cool. You should be able to make someone's day with that thing.

also, is the ike a Silver Ike, just with some gold plating???

No, it's a 1971 D Ike...

Time is the only thing lost so it was an exercise worth taking...Brad
