Well, I went out today just after noon and hunted and old home site that an older home was torn down. The barn is still there, (haven't checked that yet) as it started to rain and the wind was really picking up. I would have gone in the barn if it wasn't windy. The barn is REALLY BIG and going into it last leg and I didn't want to be in there if it came down! I was there for about 3 hours going over the old home site and moving debris so I could detect real good. After I was scanning I got some hits and started digging and then looking for my camera I realized I left it at home. I found a few modern pennies and a couple of nickles, and a quarter, but the REAL PRIZE>>Found 2 Morgans, (1880, 1892) 1 Setted Liberty Half (1854), 1 silver dime (1946), 2 silver dimes both (1964), 2 silver quarters both (1964), 1 modern quarter (1965), 1 (14K gold ring with a gold 1945 dos pesos) mounted in it, and I found a small rock with a hole in it and after looking at it after I wiped it clean, it looks just like a dogs head!

I AM DEFINITELY GOING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will post some pics up after my camera finishes charging.

(UPDATE)
I went to resize my pics to post them and I some trouble to get them resized enough but them posted.

Re: SILVER, GOLD, AND A DOGS HEAD!!!!!!!!!! (NEED HELP UPLOADING PICS!)

Well after some frustration I finally got he pics loaded!

yay! you did good! Incredible finds too! So glad you got the pics resized so we could see them! Congrats!

Thanks, It is my very FIRST real finds! I generally been finding the regular clad, just a couple of years old. I found some pennies at the beach a few months ago and a couple of dimes. I am still having a hard time cleaning the sand and some grit off the pennies to clean them up a bit. The house was bought when they made the toll road and they moved the house out, but the old barn and a shed with a swimming pool is all that's left. I scanned the front porch area where the foundation was and after getting some hits, the 2 morgans were about 2 inches down and the ring was about 3 inches about 2 feet away. I WAS REALLY SCHOCKED when it came up, and STUNNED when I saw the Gold coin in it. After cleaning it the best I could when I got home I looked at the date of the Dos Pesos from inside the ring. I SAID WOW! The seated was dug at 4 inches on the side of the house by the driveway. The quarters and dimes were about 5 inches deep and not far from each other in back of where the house used to be. The rock shaped like a dogs head was found not far from the creek bed on the bank where the were some larger stones. I looked at it after wiping it a bit and noticed a hole in it and then the shape of it and saw it looks just like a dogs head, so I of course had to keep it as well!

I am DEFINITELY going back and stay a little longer going over it with a fine tooth comb. The only problem is the weeds, grass, and overgrowth are almost waist high in a majority of the property, but I think I am going to hit the barn and the shed when I get back there.

darn, that is a good day no matter who you are
