Silver pocket watch purchased in Switzerland??

My brother bought this in Switzerland we were wondering if anyone had any information on it... Is it real silver, who made it or when did they make it. Who is this company and are they still active? :icon_scratch

Until around 1920-30, it was a common practice to buy a watch movement made by your manufacturer of choice, and then purchase a case for it made by another manufacturer— for example, an Elgin movement and a Dueber case.

sorry...shiny red things are called jewels...they are normally made of ruby, garnets, or in rare cases, diamonds.
the jewels are bearings for the transmission wheels...using gem stones for the movement limits the friction and bearing wear.
the more jewels a watch has, the better the quality, except for fakes and imitations.

stem wind: if you can wind the watch without a key.
stem set: if if you can set the time by the same stem as used to wind the watch.
