sure, from an 1880 house which is right down the road from fort totten, a civil war fort. i have found numorous 3 ringers, round balls, buttons and coins, oldest coin was 1681 counterfeit 8 escudos, oldest real coin was 1873 indian.

just looked up what a kepi buckle is, thats cool, its probably civil war since it was found near those bullets??

CW for sure. I have one just like it that came from a CW camp. Nice find.

I think that would be a possibility Crabstang44. Although it also could have been lost later or earlier. Unfortunately some finds you will never know since modern stuff is also found in the same area. Thanks for sharing!

I agree. Chances are pretty good though if it was found with other CW relics on a known site.
