I got this in change, if you can believe it, at a menard's. The cashier looked at it funny and asked if I would take it. I gladly accepted it. Pretty lucky day I guess.
When i used to work cash registers (in the 1980's) i came home with some kinda coin every day.
(Usually a silver or 40% half or a wheat cent or some such coin.)
I started collecting coins about a year ago when I found a barber half dollar in a sugarbeet field that had just been harvested. The harvester must have dug it up. Have been keeping an eye out for anything old ever since.
And with a readable date no less!
Most of the time when I find these detecting they don't have dates on them anymore.
Someone must have got into Dads coin collection.
