Silver ring! With diamonds?

My Father decided he would like to try his hand at MD'ing. So, I take my Ace 250 to his house and show him how to use it and look what he finds. It's silver (A925) and with what I would like to think are diamonds and what looks to be onyx. But the wife says the "diamonds" are marquisette. (She would probably know) Maybe someone can help me prove her wrong. Also, I'm not sure what the A is for. I'm pretty sure the 925 means silver. Thanks for looking and the help. HH

Any ring is a cool find, but sorry, the wife is most likely right and it probably is marcasite. The 925 does mean silver-the two go together in jewelry quite a lot. Not sure what the "A" means.
