I had a nice hunt with beautiful weather. I had a good permission a few years ago, and now there is construction going on. There were old houses there at one time. You can't tell now. I spent an hour or so and found these. The crusty Indian, which is probably an 1893. I get impatient and get out the green scratchy, when I can't see a date. I think I found a silver shoe buckle. It shows a lot of wear! I took a small file to the back and sure enough it is silver. Maybe its to big and is just a waist buckle. I met someone renting a place nearby and wants to go out. He owns 5 lots in a nearby old town. It should work out great. New permissions are almost as good as getting out. Happy Hunting! The wheat cent was a bonus! 1127171853_HDR-1.webp

Perhaps some better pics, I can’t see the silver shoe buckle well enough.

Nice finds.

Your silver item looks like fancy silver belt loop. In other words a stay to the excess length of a belt.

If you all remember the old metal roller skates, your last post looks like a buckle to the strap that you would use.

I’ve found quite a few like it. I don’t believe they are silver but rather a metal alloy of some sort.

I think you right old digger and Gaspipe. I easily jump the gun on a lot of things! Thanks for the help!!!!

I was looking for a silver colonial shoe buckle and couldn’t see it... but I was afraid to say anything, for fear of being considered harsh.

I get excited too man. I’m certain that the good stuff will be in your pouch soon.Good luck brother!

No shoe buckle nor anything silver. Likely late 1800’s saddle tack or personal adornment

Thanks Tom, I consider the good stuff just getting out! Learning is the good stuff too. Most people on here have invaluable knowledge. Thanks Scrappy, I know you have found your share of buckles! Here is a bullet I forgot to post, larger than than most I find. I hardly ever find them with the rings. It is next to a penny.

Bullet looks like a modern muzzle loader bullet.

Congratualtions on the nice finds! :occasion14:
