Seems like forever since I've found anything worth posting. Almost a month since my last silver. I guess it was worth the wait.

I was expecting something good when I found the half. Was expecting a bottle cap when I found the quarter...so jaw hit the ground there.:laughing7:

Half was a nice clean signal. Felt it was something good, so I gave it a wide berth. Did not hit with the trowel. But there still appear to be some scratches on it:BangHead:. Probably need to do a better job of cutting plugs. The Barber Half came out of the ground nice and pretty. The quarter, not so much! It was pretty much black coming out of the ground. Admittedly cleaned it up with some baking soda. I know that is frowned upon by collectors. Probably would not have done it if it were a lower mintage coin. But was hard to make out some of the detail on the coin as it had a substantial layer of black tarnish on it. I would prefer to see the coin as it likely looked going into the ground. Did not think to get pictures of it until I had already started cleaning.

She turned out to be a beauty. Not sure if having a coin professionally cleaned would remove the tarnish and not sure of the cost. If anyone has any input here, I am all ears. There will be future coins where I feel stuck in the same Catch22.
