Today I stopped at my grandmother's house to take in her bottles, cans, and recycling. Afterwards she gave me some things that belonged to my grandfather who passed away last Christmas. She gave me a small jar of coins, most just fairly common coins that he found interesting, but there were six silver quarters and twelve silver dimes, and a few foreign coins. There was also a bag of Buffalo nickels, most of them no dates.

I remember my grandfather telling me about the pails and pails of silver coins he had saved through all his years of owning small grocery stores throughout the 1950's-1990's. Unfortunately he sold them years ago, back when I was a kid. It's too bad, I actually remember seeing the ice cream pails full of silvers, but I was only 8 yrs old and had no clue. I got a text from my wife this morning, when she got to work at the town office there was an envelope addressed "for the coin collector". She knew it was for me lol, and she's pretty sure it came from an older guy that we know quite well. He's 85, and has given me tons of local history about places to detect. He's a great man and a wealth of knowledge. Inside the envelope was this dateless old George V silver dime. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1436910637.046782.webp

For not detecting today, I sure came across a lot of good stuff haha!
