Silver thing?

What is this thingy?? Its marked 900 p.s.? the front is mother of pearl.? Could it be .900 90% or coin silver?? And is P.S. the manufacturer? anyone have any info on this?

Tis a button. The 'cotter' pin went vertically through a thread or wire loop on bottom placket, then the button shank is slid onto the pin, then buttoned normally. This design gives the ability to remove the buttons for washing.

The 900 is probably the 'parts silver'.

It looks like an old cuff link to me with mother of pearl. They have the pin on the back to hold the two sides together.
