I got a video from the local library some time ago. It was titled "Treasure House" and is about the mineral deposits and mining of Utah. There was a short segment about an occurance in one of the silver mines where miners working on the face broke into a cavern. They enlarged the opening and discovered a room that was full of petrified trees. The trees had been mineralized with so much silver that these miners destroyed them for the metal content.

Except that video which was sponsored by Kennecott I have never seen another reference to this. Would anyone else have any information on this ?

Thanks
OB

Great story, would love to find that, Fossis....................

What a magnificent sight that must of been! I wish they would have left it intact! Keep us informed!

So far i have done a little looking and found that the video is available for sale. Another tidbit I need to follow up on is a book that a local University library has in special collections it is called "Petrified Tree Cave" by Bill Barber
