I am REALLY new to this, so bare with me if this is just a stupid question. I was out in the woods yesterday and my MD started firing off a solid signal. I dug, few inches down, signal still strong, dug some more, and more, and more, and more... etc etc etc, until I hauled out a HUGE rock probably 18 inches down. I pulled the rock thinking something would be below it, pulled the rock and checked the hole and NO signal. Then, decided to run the MD over and the rock and the thing went crazy.

Is this an example of pure iron? I have no idea about these things.
