no matter where you find it... its still fun to find... silver is silver! I think its prettier than gold... I think the only reason gold is preferred over silver is because of its value... I have always silver preferred over gold for its aesthetics.

it was 104 on Saturday... we went out at 8:30 PM hunted till 10:30 PM... its to only way to hut here in Texas when it gets this hot... all my finds were in the 70's & 80's and one 1959 Memorial... then the next morning I was sorting pocket change and I find this! I wasn't expecting it but I saw it!

I agree as long as it's silver! & you are hardier than me, I could never hunt in that heat. guess that's why I don't live in Texas.

"Hear Hear" I agree, with the prettier......nice find! :icon_thumleft:

Nice dime.

Just hope the heat doesn't kill you there.

I'm having the opposite problem here in Oregon. Just saw a weather forecast. Portland, Oregon so far this spring has been colder than Fairbanks, Alaska. The roses for Rose Festival (now going on) have not bloomed. My rhododendrons have been 2 weeks late to bloom. Today's temperature may reach 60. Sometime. Good thing I like cool weather better than hot weather anyway.

BTW I took this picture with my iphone... I can't believe how good it is! sure it lack depth but its pretty clear!

Not movin to Portland anytime soon. Looks like were goin to have a rainfree week here in Pa.

now THAT is a rare find...
I check all my change for errors etc,
Have yet to get a silver (except for a Canada 'Mackeral' commem dime)
This was only because most Americans aren't familiar with these.
I was not around when they started issuing clad instead of silver,
I can only imagine the coin shortage that resulted.
Must be the reason I come across so many '65 quarters.
BTW, check your '65 dimes, a batch of silver ones left the mint :icon_sunny:

I don't think its has to do with being hardier, even though being here gets you used to it... I get out late in the afternoon 7pm or later so that helps... we even hunt in the dark with headlamps! Besides we gotta do what we gotta do... we are treasure hunters! we either hunt or we don't. I'm just glad we aren't totally shut down like the guys up north in the winter time!
