Well,
Pipster the land pirate
and I got a chance to get out again for a midweek hunt after work today. Pipster met me at my work(golf course) and I had a couple places picked out for us to try out. We did not go out on the course but stayed close to the parking area. The first spot did not give anything up except trash so we moved on to a small area with some older pine trees. We had a great start and hit the ground running by pulling quit a bit of clad in a very small area. I can't speak for Pipster but I got excited when we started pulling some wheats in the dated in the 1940's. Pipster dug a nice half dollar which about gave me a heart attack when I saw him hold it up, Pipster can correct me but I think it was a 1972', which are always nice to see come out of the ground. With the wheats we found we just knew there had to silver hiding somewhere. Finally in an area I had already gone over once, I got a decent signal about 4.5" and figured it would be a newer clad dime and was very excited when a 1942D Mercury showed its hiding place. All in all it was a great afternoon/evening of hunting. I ended up with another double silver day
which included the 1942D Mercury and an unusual triple dolphin silver ring, Wheats 1944S 1945 1949S and Clad total at $5.10...
Thanks for looking

Luckily I could still read the date as 1989
