This is the keepers from yesterday at the same site I dug the sterling silver spoon yesterday. The closer to the main road you go the more modern the finds. Got a couple large coppers and the two extra silver coin finds were a nice addition. 1917 Canadian five cent and a 1897 barber dime on the way back to the truck. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

Anyone know exactly what type the locket is? I see designs and may try some lemon juice because I see gilt still on it in places. Looks like gilt on the front transferred on the glass over time if that's possible?

You gittin' all da good stuff !

Good finds...a rare Barber for us up north!

Nice shoe buckle frame and congrats on the sweet silver spoon!

I don't know about the gilt transfer thing, but these are some nice finds!

very nice finds Congratz!

Looks similar to this mourning locket-----thQBTKMBGD locket.webp

Isn't it nice finding fishscales AND Barber dimes on the same hunt? You must live close to the border like me. I love never knowing what side of the border a coin will be from when I get a good deep signal. Excellent finds man.

I'm pretty far away from the border and silver US coinage in my area is super tough to find. If not for the US silvers in my big silver coin spill I found this would have been my first one. There are wheat cents everywhere though! [emoji2]

Ok yeah, I remember seeing that glorious spill with the Barbers. That's why I had the impression that you find US coinage often. I find a pile of US coinage, my oldest being an 1838 Seated dime, which is amazing for the Sask/North Dakota border.

Congrats on your first single drop Barber dime, I hope there are more for you there.

Congrats K1DD :occasion14: The locket is a good find, It's always nice to dig old coins. Are you roaming or gridding? Looking forward to seeing the future treasures dug there.

I'd call myself a roamer way more than a gridder. I make the most of the little time I get and go with gut instinct. Usually pays off well. I do go over a good looking spot multiple times if I can just in case! [emoji2]

I forgot to mention I did manage to get one 1853 us large cent and not a bad amount of Indian head penny's before but that's about it! [emoji2]
