Simplex at the beach

Just ordered one (preorder) but will post what I find as soon as I try it out. I believe there may be a YouTube video but not too sure about that. Good luck!

Hi Rusty Gold,

How did you do on wet sand?

Regards
Jose

Yes, I have run a Simplex with stock coil, on wet sand and in the surf. Just re-ground balance when you get on the wet sand. I hunted in both Beach mode, and Park1, without issues. Machine ran quiet after GB. I pulled a clad quarter from wet sand as deep my scoop bucket, which is about 7 or 8 inches. When in park1 mode, I found some clad, and also canslaw and 2 tent spikes. Slim pickins, but the State Park Beach I was at here in Delaware last weekend, has not many depositors visiting since last year.

Try it. I've read some posts saying it can't be used on a salt beach. Ain't true. It works when you set it up right, at least on the beaches around here.

I tried mine at Panama city several times.....i stay out of the wet sand there. I've tried re ground balancing and it's still just not usable there. Watched a lot of videos about beach settings for the simplex, but nothing seems to work. I love my simplex, but I think I might pull the trigger on their SMF machine when they finally get it to market. Hey, the wife suggested it, how often do you get your wife's blessing to spend money on gear?!?
