Size of a shotgun shell

Don't know what it is? Perhaps a salt shaker or woman's perfume container











Outside is copper . It measures 7/8" x 3" lg
Almost looks like it should be pushed out from the bottom. I chipped it trying to pull on the Stainless steel end
