Found this in a yard and it is my first bullet. Anyone know anything about it?

Without measurements it's impossible to tell. My swag is you found a fired, but spent bullet. I think the bullet was at the end of it's trajectory due to lack of deformation from hitting something. Without measurements, my pure guess is that it is a 500 grain 45-70 bullet. The 45-70 dates from 1873 until today.

Hard to judge without a size reference or measurements but from your fingers I'd guess a .38-55 bullet. Here is a modern style.
