Slick Shield Nickel, Literally

Check out the back on that shield nickel. That is one slick nickel!

Couple tokens to boot.



Love the octagon token! Appears to say Elmwood Dairy, Quart. Unfortunately, I could not get the concretions off it, so location is a bit of a mystery. Not sure if the other token is a bus token or a taxi token.

The unusual.


Garter clip, patent date 12-31-95. Another old buckle. Civilian button. Heart, looks Victorian. And a faux turquoise pin.

Actually, I think your clip from the Herald Pollution (I'm originally from Benton Harbor, that's what we called it in the day) provides the answer to what's on the bottom of the token. Thank you! I was seeing O-N-G-E-R, and thought it was a location. Apparently it is the owner (?) F.D. Conger as listed in the miscellaneous ad. The token was also found about 1/2 mile from that address...corner of Pipestone and Washington.
