Small but heavy brass item

Pulled these from the water yesterday. Have no clue what the item on the left is...(not the coin). It is approximately 1 1/8" long, 7/8" wide - 5/8" wide. Square hole on narrow end and 1/2" round hole on wide end. It also has three small evenly spaced holes on the wide end.

Looks like the piece from a porcelain door knob But they have a small hole for a set screw in the side.

Hey Taz....the square hole is about the same size. This is a old military site with living quarters. Lots of three ringers and a couple belt plates so far. This just looks familiar....just can't remember.
