Small celt???

Really not sure what to call this.Ive never found a celt in Maine.It has a celt style bit end but it's only like 3" long and not a very durable stone.Anyways its neat...mjm 20200101_104325.webp

Very cool bit-end. Nice form/shape too. Clearly it was utilized. Is it Hematite?
 

Sure looks like a celt. It's not "too small", I've found intact celts as small as 1 1/2" in length.
 

When I think of celts I think of the larger heavier wood falling type...it has the bit characteristics..its about 3/8" thick definently for more delicate work.
