✅ SOLVED Small Clasp Found In Old Yard With Patent Date

Hi all,

I've had this for several months but just now got to cleaning it, saw writing on it that reads PAT DEC 2ND 84 and got excited about the find. It measures 3/4" square. Not sure what it is, so I'd appreciate some help IDing it. Thanks in advance.
