Small haul does good.

TT,

Copper has several grades, and I think you have to go to Hogwarts or something to really understand thme all. #1 is clean and brite, such as new cut offs of tubing, etc. In my case today all of the copper was wire. The solid conductor wires graded #1 and the stranded wire as #2.

Now thats what i'm talking about...
Nice haul... 8)

Around here #1 is clean and stripped wire or Copper tube with no solder on it. #2 is Copper with solder or paint on it. Then there is unstripped wire and burnt copper wire.

Stranded or solid is the same price. You can argue with them to get what you want, I think it's a scam. Example: A piece of 500 MCM (1/2") is made up of strands of large solid wire, stranded right, but they see it as solid. When have you ever seen a 1/2" solid copper wire. If you would take the strands apart you would have a bunch of solid wires. ::)
