It seems I am only finding whatzits lately. ;D I found this in my field…the same field where I have found many early 19th century copper tokens. It was approximately 5 inches deep. This gave a VDI of 28 to 32 on the MXT. At first I thought it was lead, and it may still be, but when I air tested lead it gave a consistent VDI of 57. It is quite heavy and to me looks like it was worn as a necklace for quite some time. There is a depression in the metal from the cord it had been on. I don’t know if you can tell from the picture but it is quite thick. My wife, who has better eyes then I says she can see what appears to be a floral pattern in the 1st pic. I can’t see this but I am half blind!

It is definitely a soft metal…probably lead but maybe something else. Anyone have any idea what this may be? A pendant? It seems strange that someone would take the time to drill a hole through an object if it did not have value…even if that value was just sentimental.
