Hello everybody,

The family had a little gathering yesterday for Christmas, we exchanged gifts. This year, $30 gifts were exchanged. I got my gift, a gift card which I wanted, as well as 2 rolls of nickels and 2 rolls of pennies.

The nickels were brinks wrapped, I expected nothing. I got a 1986 canadian nickel. At least something.

The pennies, they were CWR, coin-tainer preformed rolls. I expected a wheat or 2, but nothing. in fact, each roll was short 1 penny each.

I honestly do not care about the 2 cents, in fact, I NEVER count my coin rolls.
It's just the fact that there were so little rolls, and I was killing time. The pennies were also 25% copper, but I do not save copper.

I am sure the penny rolls were not shorted on purpose(I sure hope not, a penny can hardly get you anything )

Anyway, I have a different feeling when opening CWR's, expecting to get some higher averages than MWR. I wish my area had CWR's, I would be searching them all, but with the abundance of free coin counters in my area, there are just not many CWR's to go around.

A nice little suprise, considering this came from a bank at least 60 miles away, as the person who gave them to me lives far away.

...1 box of halves and 2 boxes of dimes come in tomorrow... first time searching dimes. I changed my order from 2 half dollar boxes to 1 half dollar box and 2 dime boxes.

I went to the bank wedsnesday, asked to order coin. The teller told me she will order tomorrow(that thursday) for tuesday pickup.
I sure hope the holiday won't mess up my order, even though christmas was on a sunday, you never know.

I've been doing 4 half boxes a week lately myself but I've only got 2 boxes ordered for this week because 1 bank (the bank with the best producing boxes lately - of course) gave me the "can't get them because of the holidays excuse". That's the same excuse that bank gave me the week before AND after Thanksgiving.

I've been doing pretty good with my (Brinks) dime boxes lately - 7 keepers from my last 4 boxes - with no skunks. I also got my 1st 3 keeper dime box Xmas day.

Thanks for the heads up with the dimes. I know different parts of the country produce differently, but mind me asking? what supplier do you use mainly for dimes?

I do not know yet what supplier my dimes will be, or what the rolls will look like. I just know that they are not clear wrapped brinks(Thank god).

All the dime boxes I've searched so far have been Brinks. The boxes I've searched so far seem to produce fairly consistantly - 0 to 3 keepers (my last box) per box - maybe about a 1 to 1 1/2 keeper per box average. And I don't think I've had more than a 1 skunk box streak so far - but I've only really just started searching dimes lately myself and I've only been doing about 4 or so dime boxes a week.

I did a couple of dime boxes back in Aug. and got 2 keepers in my 1st box and skunked on ny 2nd but I didn't care much for edge searching @ first - but now I really like searching dimes (and seeing those silver edges) - esp. snce they are so much faster to search than nickels but I still like searching nickels too.

I was up to an 6 box skunk streak on brinks dimes when I stopped searching them. I recantly did 2 more brinks dime boxes, skunks.

Hopefully my luck can change with a new supplier. I will post results tomorrow if the boxes come in(I sure hope the holiday does not mess up the ordering)
