Re: Small tooth or claw?

Here are some pics of Permian from the South western part of the state.

I have quite a Bit more as been at it for 25 years plus.

Still think that is a part of the Calyxes

I found a picture of one on this website(Ancient Life in Kansas rocks)http://www.kgs.ku.edu/Publications/ancient/f21_crin.html .
The website says:
"spinose brachial plate( an axillary plate), "Many stems thicken and branch at the base (resembling a root) and hold the animal fast to the soft substrate". Here's a diagram from that website.

See what you think, reef12, and please post some more pics of your other fossils if you get the chance  .

Re: Small tooth or claw?

Yes a Crinoid spine broke it looks near the end is the reason it looks like a claw.

I will post more next week Sandy Creek Girl.

Here are a few.

Thanks Sand Creek Girl.

As you live in Osage county should be good for points real good as on the border of the head waters of the Arkansas River try there.

Under a dam area.

Some pics of Charles Rippy who used to be the Paleontologist at the Zoo until he left years ago.

Most all my stuff was on record with him.
