I only had about an hour and a half to go detecting today, so I headed to my "fave" field. It's still stubble at the mo' and all the weed seeds are germinating, so it's getting a bit over grown, but the field is 5 mins away and time was short. The hammered was actually lying in the chaff and I kept moving it around thinking I was getting some kind of falsing signal, but the trusty Garrett Pro pointer did it's work and I was soon enough holding my smallest hammered in my grubby hands
. The Rose farthing is a fairly common find for around here, but this is the best one I have found
. The buckle was a bit of a mystery at first, it came out of the soil very clean, in fact none of the finds have been "cleaned" other than a rinse under the tap, and I thought it was damaged. But when I got home I looked up UKDFD and there it was, a Double Loop Rectangular 'Locking' Buckle circa 1350- 1450, like this one http://www.ukdfd.co.uk/ukdfddata/showrecords.php?product=27063&cat=192 . I wish I could have spent longer over there today but I couldn't. I think I'll go back tomorrow and hit the Saxon side of the field and see what comes up
. Anyway, on with the pics.

A small motorbike badge, sadly broken in half (not by me). The two parts were lying about 18" apart

Other side

I don't know what this is, but it is patterned

Rose farthing, obverse

reverse

The hammered, a Bessy 1 Portcullis Halpenny. It does look the same as the James 1st one tho'

reverse

1/2 Oz Trade weight (inside)

Back

Double Loop Rectangular 'Locking' Buckle (front)

Back

All the stuff together, minus some big bits of lead.
Thanks for looking, take care out there
