So, about 200 years ago, someone lost or disposed of a Fancy coat...

... & I think I found what's left of it!





All these beautiful buttons came from one hole from the "Cursed Woods". They cleaned up real nice! Several of them still have fabric attached; a rare thing indeed. Also pictured is a recently found 1777 half Real, which was found in "Holly Woods", and acts to show button size.

Yeah, I only wish the backmarks had more than just "Best Quality", that way I could pinpoint exactly where they were made & who made them in Britain. (We know they are made in Britain because of the crown)

I also collect buttons - well, the ones I dig anyways! This set I found is in my top 5 button digs for sure!

What if the coat was thrown away in disgust because it had poop all over it or something? Or it was happily disposed of because it was a gift from the X? (That adulterous !#@$*!) I could think of 100's of scenarios where the coat would have been tossed.
