So how long is Ebay going to allow this to go on?

Bassmaster96 wrote, "Technically, it was delivered through tracking to an address on your account, so that is why the ruled for the seller. You should have still gotten it if your secondary address was on your account."

diggummup wrote, "Why wouldn't you have picked it up from your secondary address if that was the case? Perhaps you should remove that address if it is not a viable one. You can't leave negative feedback when an item shows as delivered. That's your mistake for having one too many addresses connected to your account."

After my dad passed away, the wife and I were making 1,100+ mile trips from our home down there, sometimes for weeks at a time. While there, there were several things we needed to order and have delivered. Do you think it would make a difference to "us" which address the seller shipped to?!?!? If a seller (I think you mean "buyer?) specifies a particular address up front, then that is the address that should be shipped to. If the seller tries to change the address after the fact, THEN that would be unacceptable.
Since you quoted my response, I'll reply back. In reference to items purchased on ebay using paypal as a payment form...As a seller, when I print my labels on ebay (or paypal), the shipping address is not determined by me, nor is it my responsibility to ask you where you want your package delivered. The label prints out whatever address you used for that purchase. You said, "If a seller (I think you mean "buyer?) specifies a particular address up front, then that is the address that should be shipped to." Wrong. That's not the way ebay is set up in regards to "seller protection". Your reply makes no sense. Just because a buyer asks a seller to ship something to a different address, the seller is under no obligation to do it and is taking a risk by doing so. There is a certain process for buyers to use who want an item shipped to another address and it is up to you as the buyer to do this. I will add this to explain how the process works- Shipping to an alternate address, Paypal, Ebay, glitch | eBay

As an eBay Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Seller....Buyer.... It's getting so I don't even know who I am anymore! :laughing9: Thanks dig.

From Shipping to an alternate address, Paypal, Ebay, glitch | eBay:
You can have up to 9 "gift" addresses in your paypal account. Add your work address, college student address, friends, family etc. Then when you buy something on eBay or pay online for something with Paypal, simply select that address from your list during the payment process (edit address link is there) . Then the seller gets a good address, generated by Paypal and no questions or special instructions are needed.

Can't remember for certain how I had it set up back then - whether there were 2 addresses listed or only one. Keep getting the Amazon and eBay info confused. Anyway, have made a few purchases over the years and have never had a problem. Well, other than a screw-up on the USPS end, but that's a whole other nightmare.

I've had two buyers recently return something there was nothing wrong with. Wifey probably told them they could not have the new toys. I contacted them the same day and told them I'd take a return. Now, before I could even break wind Ebay and Paypal have seized funds from my account.

Bottom line, I'm selling locally from now on. Only the trash will go on Ebay. And even that may get donated to charity. Can you see the smoke coming out of my ears?

I don't offer returns, and they locked the money in mine because the buyer was trying to return. I eventually got it after a few phone calls to Ebay..And yes! We see the smoke! :laughing7:

The address thing? I guess I'm a ruthless seller compared to listening to you nice guys and some of the complaints in the threads. I take no returns, Items are described, unless I make a listing error thats tough!! The buyer owns it. No, partial money back either. I don't play with that nonsense. You can usually tell the scammers too, when they want to return. I also ship to the address in the printed label area, If they are too lazy to put the right address? Tough, not my problem. I have had some messed up address's too, the post office has said this isn't coming up in our computer as an address, I just tell them to ship it.

Why would anyone sell at an auction or garage sale and accept returns? I won't do it. :laughing7:

I should add..... no returns once I ship. I have gotten messages right after BIN and someone claims to hit the wrong buttons. That has happened twice now. I don't understand how, but I just cancelled them. That even takes time if they don't accept the cancel, then you can't relist till it runs it's course.

Like I said, there are plenty of other places to sell. I had a huge mineral collection and sold it to a museum, no middle man. And no extra fees.

I like that way the best too. There is nothing better than person to person dealing. It stinks, because I'm limited to what I can do right now, and Ebay unfortunately is one of my easiest outlets for what I have to sell. Not the best, but had to work with whatever I could find fast. I also have things to list that I'm afraid of on there. After reading forums, You can almost predict the problems that are going to happen. People seem to not understand that its basically as-is read ans ask questions. They expect it to be like walmart!:laughing7: or that "fair" is some written law, which changes from person to person. Expecting the seller or Ebay to watch out for them.

Selling on eBay is more stressful than any full time job I ever had.
Sometimes purchasing from eBay is the same.
I've given up..
