Detector(s) used
Minelab Explorer (is there another brand)
...we got shot down!!! The old guy said we could come back but when we got there yesterday he told us that his kids told him "they didn't think it was a good idea to let us detect there". AHHH we were all geeked up ready to find some more neat old stuff. Oh well what a detectorist to do? So we start driving around trying to find a spot. We ended up at a neat old church/school site that I have hit many times before. I found a Indian and a nice wheatie pictured below. Was surprised to find em. Makes me want to go back and hit the place again. Ya never find em all. The indian was an iffy signal but was there.
Also added a pic of the large cent cleaned up best I could get here. She is porous but has plenty of detail. I'm pretty much done for after work detecting because of day light saving starting Sunday. It will get dark to soon. Been a good few weeks though.

Sorry you guys got shot down there Jim, bummer. But now the kids think there's buried treasure there, and they're gonna buy that Bounty hunter dectector that they saw in the Cabela's catalog. The LC looks real nice and the indian also. Hard to believe fall's about over!

Hey Jim, I know what you mean as a lady complained and we no longer get to hunt the fort site we just hunted. She said we should not be taking those artifacts. Give me a break, we should let them rot there forever! GRRRR!!!!! Nice digs for ya, and as for detecting after work, I got a flash light you can borrow! :laughing7:

Beautiful LC Jim. How did you clean it? Too bad you got shut out on that yard. :protest: Nice IH.

Same way with Indians and 2 centers. Peroxide in a little glass bowl, plop the coin in and stick it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Let it bubble away for about 10 minutes and scrub it with a soft bristle toothbrush. Depending on the condition of the coin determines how long and how many times to do the peroxide thing. You'll learn that with time and different conditioned coins.

Wow Jim - That LC sure cleaned up nice! Congrats on the Indian also

Great finds Jim! That large cent is a beauty
