has anyone deciphered the note to the brother? its tough to read and understand its context since it was written in 1716.

This Treasure Hunt is in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia and the letter tells of a buried treasure on the hill. We finished the letter , its not that hard and it is fun to do . This hunt is good for a first time hunter. We came up with the location were the Brick house was and were the treasure was once buried but not likely still there. We called the Philadelphia Historical Society and talked to Daniel N. Rolph,PhD head of reference serv. Dan tried to get the Hist. Soc. to join up with us on this hunt but the members did not want to do it. Dan thought this would be a good way to get new members to join the Society. A treasure hunting club would be great for all so I can't figure out why they turn us down. Dan told me they get calls every week about people finding historical stuff but most people do not report anything for fear of a fine. It is a shame that we the hunters can't get the state to see that there is more good to come out of a partnership with treasure hunters than the way it is now :dontknow: . We will go the site someday to check it out but there is a great deal of paper work to do before anyone can pound or dig anything in that historical area. from FindersKeepersUSA.com Thank You

I95- was placed over this burial site and coins were dug up during the process. If its from this cashe no one can tell for sure. The "cherry garden" that is referred to was located south of dock st at shippen st, which has been renamed. Some old time maps even reflect this particular house because of its proximity to the road and was left standing for some time.
