Solid brass rod from mid 1700's cellar

Another mystery object from the cellar where I dug a 1747 hibernia coin. The round end does not look like it was broken off. Dug 6 feet from an 18th century brass musket trigger guard.

Maybe a leftover length from someone making ramrods. Brass round stock was used in many ways: ramrods, ball seaters, furniture hardware, etc.

Still used today. Not certain that’s round stock, but I do have 3-4 12” pieces of varying diameter brass round stock at the house. I use it when trying to drive something in or out and not mess up what I’m driving. Main uses are nails in furniture and when replacing wheel bearings.
