I was detecting near a railroad line that dates to the 1860's and dug these things - no idea how they were used but they were held with dog spikes. Has anyone come across these?

Maybe part of the transition pieces at a line switch?

I was going to say possibly Guide bars at a rail Road Switching Area

I believe they are lawn mower blades. :wrench_orange:Broken.

LOL A bit of a stretch for something buried 10" deep in a heavily forested area that was once a rail siding that dates to the 1860's - found with rail spikes and late 1800's tie plates nearby.

Could you put a tape measure to the items, or state the size of them when posting up

It makes things a tad easier to ID.
