Dug this button yesterday, a 23mm Coat size.
This type has a completely different anchor than
the CW era Navy buttons I've looked at, also the Eagles on CW era are shown at an angle, where this one is straight on.
Can anyone find a match on this?
The back of the button is gone, also, I don't understand how the front remains in such good condition as it was dug from the area that another member calls the
'Acid Pit', where most finds are toast, or at least very poor condition.

It's a two piece blazer button with rusted steel back. Steel would never be used for Navy buttons.

I'll find and post some reference links this forum.

Looking at it now, it shows lack of detail/quality usually present on military
buttons.
