Anyone know what this is ? It was a standout in all the limestone on the beach yesterday on Lake Ontario.

Quartzite, which is metamorphosed sandstone. Layers of beach sand that was turned into rock over time.

Thanks Todd, I kinda figured sandstone but that's the first layered peice I have found. Hard to imagine this area all being underwater 400 million years ago with coral growing. I did find a nice little chunk of coral I will post it.
