Had an hour and a half of day light left and was in town, so went to park. Search about a 50' square area and found this lovely 2001 2 Pence and $1.53 in clad (3 quarters - 6 dimes - 2 nickels - 8 pennies).
The Pence gave me fits. Meter jumping around and gave an inpression of something big. It was a couple of inches down. 7/8 of the clad was pretty much on top of the ground. I just took my probe and scraped the top to find it. I just can't figure it out. I know there at least 3 others in that town that have detectors, yet I've pull a lot of change from the fairground, parks and schools. OH well. All for one and more for me. :laughing9:
Thanks for looking.
:hello: HH in 2010 :hello2:

Thank you Quindy. Make ya kind of wonder how it got way over here tho. I figure someone from over there came over here to visit and went to one of the kids game or gave it to a kid and they lost it.

Nice finds. I have never found a pence . Congrats

Our English friends refer to that coin as a "tuppance" and often place such coins over the eyes of their dead.
Thanks Plehbah, I didn't know that. Don't think it was used for that tho, I didn't find any bones. :laughing9:
