Went to do some shallow water hunting and just scored these finds. The Hibernia with no patina came from down in mud and came out exactly like that, so it is as found. The site is very compact and may be worth one more hunt! Thanks for looking!
Nice Hibernia! You need the perfect mud conditions for copper or brass to be preserved like this, it only happened to me once with a dandy button I found in the mud from a river. Congrats on some amazing finds, I love all of those early artifacts.
Love those coins and buttons, but those pottery frags are exciting to see. Those are some unusually large pieces. Looks like most are late 18th to early 19th century. Excellent outing!
