Hello all,

Hmmm, where to start... Well I guess I went hunting a few time over the last year. I went to my friends 1800's house in a small town. I pulled this sweet Tootsietoy Truck from 1940.

I also hunted my other friends 1800's old Preforming Arts Building house. Pulled lots of wheat's but that dumb bounty hunter can't sniff out the silver >:(

At last, my brother went to China not to long ago. I asked him to bring me back a Yuan Bao and he not knowing what it was said. What is it, whats it look like and how much should it cost. I told him it should be the size of a Quarter but thick and heavy and cost around $15.00 its Ancient Chinese money.

He finds one and the shop owners were not to happy to let it go for $15.00 but did. He brings it home and it's HUGE!! Its about the size of a pack of smokes. Its 10 ounces of fine silver worth about $300.00 Heh
What a great find!! My Brother had no idea it was worth so much or i am sure he would have given the small shop owner more.

Here are some pictures I may post a scan of the wheat's likely not big deal wheat's....

Well Keep @ it and HH!!

I think you are taking my comment out of context. I don't mean Jew like in a Jewish Person, I meant it in the terms of like someone going to a garage sale and jewing someone down on price. I did not mean anything by it and I am no way prejudice in anyway to any race. It is an old saying and it I guess it has different meanings to different people.

Sorry for offending you.

After going back and reading my post reply, I do see how the meaning could be misconstrued.
Again sorry.
"I don't mean Jew like in a Jewish person"???? Where did you think the term came from?? It IS an old saying...one that comes from a period where Jews were more openly persecuted than today. Maybe you truly didn't make the connection between "jewing" and Jews....

Danimal,
Pardon my innocense, and lack of putting the two together, when I was growing up that is what grandma and mother would say whenever they went garage selling and when they got a lower price on an item. I never really gave it much thought and I always thought that jewing was a garage sale term.

People can throw rocks at me all they want, but what will it accomplish?

I have sincerely offered my humblest appology and now feel really bad that it was even said at all, and it is sad that people start throwing darts without even knowing a persons heart or motives.

Enough said.

Not siding with the comment, but in my household my uncles (right or wrong) would use the same term as a compliment. In their neighborhood most were jewish people and in order to survive one must have had the skills to wheel and deal to get the best price.

If you were able to get the price knocked down a good bit, you were doing what the merchants and customers did, which was hard to do especially if you werent in a cliche of merchants who knew you well or grew up with you.

To this day in some parts of Baltimore that has open air markets, if you arent a member of their religion, race, creed or other affiliation they will not knock off one cent off the asking price.

Take the appology with grace and take it as a compliment. Only you yourself can know how you feel about the statement, so deal with it as you have to. Just remember, you yourself may have said something out of context or not meaning to inult someone in the past.

Other than that.............Mazaltoff!!!!!!!! ;)

Like I said in an earlier post....I like your truck ;D
