Nice pics. My pair of Mockingbirds just made it back yesterday. One was hitting the suet we put out for woodpeckers. Must not be very many bugs out yet. Gary

The mockingbird in my pic had just grabbed up a grass spider -- a couple of the legs were still visible in the full size image.

I like watching them hunt. They take a few bounces then quickly open their wings and grab whatever they scare by their motion. Blue Jays will do the same thing, while robins will stop and wait a few seconds to find what they want -- never opening their wings.
 

Very nice Chateaux. All wonderful, but I really do like that squirrel at the bird bath.
