In Florida getting the new to me place fixed up for moving in later this year. I've only got to the beach twice in the past three days but am making the most of the times there. I've managed to get two firsts off my list, I picked up a small piece of 22k jewelry (1 gram marked 22k) and last night after getting beat up from the waves, settled on the wet sand to hunt and found my first grill. At first I thought it was a broken bracelet until I got it in my hand, weighs in at an even 5 grams, now just have to figure out the k value of the gold. I did check to verify it was solid by filing a small spot, it is solid not plated.

I also spent about 20 minutes talking to a fellow detectorist named Roger. Quite a nice guy with some great tales of finds, if it wasn't so late in the evening and hunting light going fast, I would have talked lots longer.... hope to run in to him again!

Nice digs! Typically dental gold is 16k, but have seen them as low as 9k.

Just going by color, it should be better than 14k. It is close to the color of the 22k I found Sunday.

Well done and congratulation!!

Congrats on the gold.

The 22k piece is awesome, teeth look great also.I've found singles before and one parshal plate with two gold teeth in it.Happy hunting.
