Finds are getting a little scarcer at the 1830s farm site. I've started digging more of the iron using the iron audio on AT Pro and expanding my search area a bit. I did find a 1942 wheat cent in a modern coin spill which was an odd coincidence. I am not sure what the iron rod with the slot or hole in it is for. I have found a few like it of different lengths at this site. Also another short 4" railroad spike. The jewelry is modern and broke when I hit it with my shovel. The copper piece is solid on the acorn shaped end and appears to be a ferrule that went on something wooden as it has a hole in one side of the hollow end. I really like the barn door hinge.

Interesting finds. All the more reason to dig iron. They tell a story of living in the early days of the country, more then coins do. The tools they used to work on the farm or cutting timber, working in mines etc. Keep digging iron.
