Some kind of clip....suspender?

I nave never seen one of these things before. Dug at an older house site, it looks like it could be a suspender clip I suppose.

Anyone ever seen one of these?

There was something very much like that that was on suspenders as a length adjustment. I think.....

I'd say sock or garter clip? It looks a little small for suspenders? HH
